The biggest advantage of cicadas is their incredible versatility.

The cicada is fished mostly from the drop, the even and monotonous leading is less effective. Perches can "strike" when picking up the cicada from the bottom, usually when they feed more intensively. We should lead the cicada on a taut braided line or monofilament so that we can feel its vibration on the rod tip, which will allow us to effectively jerk it when it contacts the fish. There are several holes in the body of the cicada for fastening the snap. Hooking it behind the back hole makes the lure vibrate with less frequency, but the amplitude of the vibrations is greater. Its action in the descent is worse, but it is more aggressive when lifted from the bottom. Hooking it behind the front hole makes its vibrations faster but with smaller amplitude (deflection), it works better in the descent and during the retrieve it can be guided at greater depth. The best lure action should be determined experimentally on the fishery, hooking the safety pin behind each hole.
