"Coffin" owes its name primarily to its shape, but the name of the weapon is also effective.

Others call it "Rogatka" anyway, every salmon/trout angler knows this model, because it is one of the most popular blanks for these species.  Its main advantage is a strong, rotating action, which can be felt on the rod in every phase of guiding, even when fishing in the drift. This is very important when fishing in distant places on the opposite bank of the river. The rod starts fast and holds the current well, both strong in bends and weak on straights and flats. These are important factors when using the so called "fan" fishing technique. After casting slightly up or down the river (it depends where the trough begins and ends) we bring the lure down with the rod only, moving it slower from the current, and at the same time we use the reel to take up the slack of the line. You can also let the lure fall for a moment if you speed up the rod's movement in relation to the current and then take off again. This technique is very provocative and effective.
